I don’t drive but it is something I have been considering more and more as the years go by. I always have to rely on Steve to take me places or friends if I am going out with them. I’ve also sat and dreamed about my first car – what would I get? Would I save up and get a brand new car or would I prefer to save my money and purchase something older?
There are so many things to consider when buying your first car – and since this is a blog about personal finance, I know that you have to be careful with the pennies with purchases like these. You want to make sure you are getting your money’s worth but you don’t want to overspend nor do you want to spend too little and have to spend on repairs what you would have spent on a new car in the first place.

Until Steve met me, he was a big fan of buying used cars then as we got serious he bought a brand new car. Our car now was bought used from a dealership – its actually seven years old but is a fab car for our family.
I’m still not sure if I will learn to drive yet – I’m terrified of how rubbish I will be behind the wheel but it is handy to know the drill when it comes to buying my first car should I decide to do so.
