In my household, we try to cut costs as much as possible. Cutting down on groceries, evaluating our bills – we do whatever we can to keep in good financial stead. Today I am here to tell you a little more about how to save on your MOT.
If you’re anything like us, you have your fair share of MOT horror stories. Once we managed to fail on the last little thing. Luckily the MOT centre offered to re-MOT for free if it was fixed within 72 hours but that also meant paying out for the small thing to get fixed – money we just didn’t have as we weren’t expecting any problems!
With our previous MOT’s, it has always been something very small that has failed us, something we always fail to notice. Whilst I am not the driver in the household, I like to make sure things are ticking over properly and hopefully help us to save on our MOT.

There are plenty of places on a car that people forget to check – simple things like making sure the numbers and letters on your registration plate are clearly visible or making sure enough fuel is in the tank so the MOT centre can complete their tests. We all know of the main things to keep an eye out for: tyres, fluids, mirrors and so on – but it is the little things that can bring us down.

I don’t know about you but I’ve had my fair share of expensive MOT’s – just because we didn’t check the smallest little things. This can be very embarrassing when the MOT centre have to fail you so we now take every step to ensure everything is sorted – that way we only have to pay for the MOT and not have to get loads of work done and then get our car re-assessed. If you want to know how to save on your MOT, I’d thoroughly suggest completing all these checks – otherwise your wallet could be in for a hit once MOT time rolls around.
