When you have children, you find yourself teaching them everything to help them in their life. Yet so many children leave home with no clue – they’ve had no financial responsibility and have no idea what to do. Adulthood comes as quite a shock.
I was lucky – I was taught the value of money from a young age and knew I had to save if I wanted certain things. When I turned 18, I started paying rent to my parents, preparing me for when I would eventually move out. Financial responsibility is something we are trying to teach our son and I’ve discussed how we do this over on my lifestyle blog today.
